Congratulations to Inso Biosciences for winning the 2020 Eclectic Convergence Startup Pitch Competition!

Each year, Entrepreneurship at Cornell hosts the Eclectic Convergence, the Entrepreneurship Summit, featuring inspiring entrepreneurial role models. A Startup Pitch competition is held during the summit. This year, out of the four startups in the competition, Inso Biosciences was chosen as the winner.

Inso Biosciences, a CTL startup, is developing a microfluidic platform to improve and automate DNA sample preparation for long-read DNA sequencing. The company’s platform extracts ultra-high molecular weight DNA from cellular samples, especially for low-volume or precious samples, enabling users to perform long-read DNA sequencing and multi-omic analysis.

The other three companies in the Pitch Competition include Cornell startups:

  • Organic Robotics Corporation (building smart fabrics to deliver accurate motion capture and fast pressure sensing).
  • Soctera (developing the world’s first aluminum nitride-based power amplifier).
  • Pelex (developing a non-invasive medical device to treat disorders of the pelvic floor).
