Enns is a Professor in the Department of Government and the Brooks School of Public Policy\, Robert S. Harrison Director of the Cornell Center for Social Sciences\, and Executive Director of the Roper Center for Public Opinion Research. He is also co-founder and chief data scientist at Verasight. His research and teaching focus on public opinion and political representation\, mass incarceration and the legal system\, and data science. \nEnns has published three books—Hijacking the Agenda: Economic Power and Political Influence\, Incarceration Nation: How the United States Became the Most Punitive Democracy in the World\, and Who Gets Represented?—and dozens of academic articles and op-eds. His research has been funded by the Economic and Social Research Council\, FWD.us\, Koch Foundation\, National Science Foundation\, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation\, and Russell Sage Foundation. In 2017\, he received the Emerging Scholar Award from the Elections\, Public Opinion\, and Voting Behavior section of the American Political Science Association\, presented to the top scholar in the field within ten years of her or his doctorate.

DESCRIPTION:From reproductive health menopause to mental health\, more attention is being paid to women’s health issues as they are becoming less taboo. As of 2021\, the women’s health segment accounts for only 4% of R&D funding and only 1.4% of capital invested in healthcare [1]; however\, it is one of the fastest-growing segments in the healthcare industry. The field is mainly driven by innovation in digital health and surgical innovations. \n  \nIn a special panel\, CTL@WCM will address the opportunities in the field with the lens of commercialization and venture creation. SUMMARY:Ignite Innovation Acceleration – 2022 Spring Cycle Info Session #1
DESCRIPTION:Ignite Innovation Acceleration is a gap funding program and one of the three signature programs of Ignite: Cornell Research Lab to Market gap funding series. The program aims to advance Cornell University research innovations to the next inflection point (technical or commercial validation) towards commercialization. \nAwarded projects receive up to $50\,000. Funding is provided in form of grants to labs to advance inventions toward licensing\, startup formation\, or industry partnerships. \nProject applications are submitted by Cornell University research labs based on disclosed\, active CTL inventions from Ithaca\, Geneva\, or Cornell Tech campuses. \nApplications are being accepted through April 18\, 2022. \nJoin the information session to learn more about the program series and the application process.
