SUMMARY:Ignite Fellow for New Ventures Info Session #3
DESCRIPTION:The Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation (OVPRI) at Cornell University has launched the Ignite Postdoc for Ventures program – one of the four signature programs of Ignite Cornell Research Lab to Market gap funding series – in January 2022 to fund and train candidates with entrepreneurial outlooks to start technology ventures based on groundbreaking Cornell invention portfolios. The inaugural cohort comprises five talented Ignite Postdocs pursuing their new journey at Cornell. For this second annual recruitment\, the program is expanding to master graduates and being renamed Ignite Fellow for New Ventures. \nThe program aims to build new solid businesses\, grow entrepreneur scientists and engineers\, advance technology commercialization\, and enrich Cornell’s venture ecosystem by creating high-value startup companies based on the partnerships of an Ignite candidate and faculty inventor. \nWe are looking for candidates who dream big and take risks\, want to become a CEO\, CSO\, or CTO founder\, and want to take their entrepreneurial skills to the next level. \nApplications are being accepted through February 28\, 2023. \nJoin one of the virtual info sessions to learn about the program\, the goals\, the key features\, the support provided to the fellows\, the application process\, and the newly implemented pre-phase to match candidates and faculty-inventors. Register here for session 3 on Thursday\, January 5\, 2022.

SUMMARY:Women Innovator Initiative Virtual Workshop: Stop Selling Yourself Short!
DESCRIPTION:The Center for Technology Licensing is delighted to present the next event in the Women Innovator Initiative (WI2) programming designed specifically with faculty and researchers in mind.  This second interactive workshop from Vanessa Hagerbaumer\, CEO of V & CO Coaching & Consulting LLC\, is entitled “Stop Selling Yourself Short!” \nHumans are hardwired for safety. We’ll engage in a provocative self-reflection exercise to challenge the thinking traps that have been keeping us stuck. \nIn this 90-minute interactive session\, we will: \n\nEnhance the audience’s understanding and relationship to cognitive behavioral systems around fear\, risk-taking\, motivation\, and confidence.\nChallenge the attendees’ innate and common hesitancy to take risks.\nUtilize breakout rooms and invite attendees to share experiences\, insights\, and challenges to develop camaraderie within the group and normalize their emotions/experiences\, so they feel less isolated and more empowered to discuss and co-create solutions.\n\nRegister here! \n\nAbout Vanessa Hagerbaumer \n \nVanessa has 15+ years of business and leadership experience at startups\, design agencies\, and cultural organizations\, where she experienced firsthand the challenges she’s now keen to solve. Her background includes event design and experiential marketing at The Metropolitan Museum of Art and WeWork. She holds a BFA with high honors from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign\, an ACC certification from the International Coaching Federation\, and is a Certified Authentic Leadership Coach.
