This will be an opportunity to have a Q&A-style discussion with an emphasis on how to create and manage new ventures. \nAbout John E. Alexander \n \nJOHN E. ALEXANDER (Cornell AB ’74\, MBA ’76) is the founder of The CBORD Group Inc.\, a systems integration firm based in Ithaca\, NY.  He earned an undergraduate degree in physics and an MBA in finance while at Cornell.  Immediately after graduation\, he was vice president in the Money Market Division of Bankers Trust Company (now Deutsche Bank.) in their Eurodollar trading operation. \nAs President and CEO of CBORD\, Mr. Alexander led CBORD through 29 years of growth. DESCRIPTION:Careers Beyond Academia and the Center for Technology Licensing bring together alumni in the medical device space to provide a holistic view of that industry. The objective is to explore how established corporations and startup companies push forward medical device innovations into the market. \nOur panel of guest speakers—industry-experienced alumni and professionals\, and Cornell-affiliated startup founders —will share their expertise and experiences to highlight the diverse avenues to commercialization.
