SUMMARY:CTL New Ventures Series – Pitching 101: How to Present Your Startups and Technology Innovation to Potential Funders
DESCRIPTION:Back by popular demand for CTL’s New Ventures Series this fall\, Kirsten Leute and Ajay Rayasam at Osage University Partners (OUP) focus the session on how an entrepreneur\, or a faculty-entrepreneur\, can develop and deliver a pitch to gain interest and commitment from potential investors. \nPitching an early-stage science- and technology-based startup to potential funders can be intimidating. Learning how to tailor your presentation and understanding what motivates funders to say yes\, or at least not give you an outright no\, are important aspects of preparing for your initial pitch. This talk is structured around OUP’s many years of experience in hearing pitches and reviewing pitch decks to provide insight on creating and presenting an initial startup pitch to funders. \nSpeakers: \n\nKirsten Leute\, Partner at OUP\nAjay Rayasam\, M.S.\, Associate\, Technology\, OUP\n\n  \nRegister here!

SUMMARY:CTL@WCM Special Panel on Health Equity
DESCRIPTION:On the occasion of the diversity month\, Weill Cornell Medicine Enterprise Innovation’s CTL@WCM is addressing disparities in health and health care affecting underrepresented groups. \nGender\, ethnoracial background\, income\, housing\, and geographic location\, etc. are just some of factors that influence health and well-being. Theodore\, MD\, Vice President\, Global Public Health\, J&J\n• Rachel Rubin ‘07\, Vice President\, Investments and Programs\, Roivant Social Ventures\n• J’Vanay Santos-Fabian\, MBA candidate\, Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer\, My LÚA \n  \nModerated by Lisa Placanica\, Senior Managing Director\, CTL @ WCM \nJoin us for this special panel in collaboration with Johnson and Johnson. SUMMARY:Women Innovator Initiative Webinar Series: Imposter Syndrome\, Overwhelm\, and Getting Unstuck
DESCRIPTION:The Center for Technology Licensing is delighted to begin this year’s Women Innovator Initiative (WI2) programming with this webinar from Vanessa Hagerbaumer\, CEO of V & CO Coaching & Consulting LLC. \nLearn about what Imposter Syndrome is and why it’s so prevalent. Gain insight into why it might be happening to you\, as illustrated by the cognitive-behavioral model. We’ll zoom in on the emotion of “overwhelm” — when too many stressors or competing demands can have us mismanage our priorities\, feel busy but not productive\, or even leave us in analysis paralysis. We’ll learn about the environmental factors and behavior patterns that can contribute to feelings of overwhelm — and what to do about them. \nThis 90-minute interactive session will: \n\nEnhance the audience’s understanding and relationship to cognitive behavioral systems around imposter syndrome\, overwhelm\, perfectionism\, self-criticism\, and wanting to control the outcome.\nProvide practical skills and tools to support authentic prioritization and time management to unleash intrinsic motivation\, well-being\, and forward momentum.\nInvite a collaborative environment for participants to share stories and challenges in order to normalize experiences\, validate emotions that arise from challenging environments\, and co-create solutions.\n\nRegister here. \n\nAbout Vanessa \nVanessa has 15+ years business and leadership experience at startups\, design agencies\, and cultural organizations where she experienced firsthand the challenges she’s now keen to solve. \nHer background includes event design and experiential marketing at The Metropolitan Museum of \nArt and WeWork. She holds a BFA with high honors from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign\, an ACC \ncertification from the International Coaching Federation\, and is a Certified Authentic Leadership Coach. As a coach and facilitator\, Vanessa brings a unique toolkit including CBT\, emotional intelligence\, laser-focused coaching\, and an interactive facilitation style.
