Hoping to make a real-world impact with your research in the life sciences field? Explore commercialization of your innovation and develop an entrepreneurial mindset in the Life Sciences Technology Innovation Fellows Program!
Formerly known as the BioEntrepreneurship Initiative, this program pairs Ph.D. candidates and postdoctoral fellows with business students to collaborate on practical technology-based startup creation. Through an exclusive six-credit workshop course, NBA 5175: Life Science Entrepreneurship in Practice, cross-disciplinary teams will test their hypotheses and thereby de-risk their potential business models. Upon successful completion of the program, you’ll have the entrepreneurial training, mindset, and judgment you need to launch a startup based on your research or become a leader in the growing life science technology economy. Plus, you will receive a certificate from the SC Johnson Graduate School of Management.
Ph.D. candidates in the program are restricted to those in the third year and higher conducting graduate level research on a topic related to health, pharma, med tech, biotech, veterinary tech, molecular bioscience, and agritech or similar. Postdoctoral fellows in the same research areas are also welcome to participate. Research participants can be from across Cornell’s Ithaca and NYC campuses, as well as from Cornell’s Tri-Institutional partners (Memorial Sloan Kettering and The Rockefeller University). The program begins in August 2024 with monthly workshops throughout the academic year.
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until Wednesday, March 27, 2024. Apply now!
